Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my book club girls! I love you all. Thanks for making this first year of blogging and reading and discussing the book so much fun. I am looking forward to 2011!!!!!

Goals and Guildelines

Welcome Girls! I am so excited about all the possibilities our book club holds for the future! I have so many ideas. I am busting at the seams to implement them all!

Let’s begin with the purpose and goals of our book club. Our purpose is to read Christian growth books that will help lead and draw us to a closer walk with God. My first goal is for the club members to edify each other. Second, it’s my goal for us to build healthy relationships with other women for the purpose of encouraging each other in the faith and holding each other accountable to apply the truths we learn.

As a wise man once said, “Any endeavor without boundaries is bound to get out of hand!” So embracing this wise counsel, I have laid out a few ground rules. Please take a few moments to look over them. These rules will apply to our monthly sessions as well as to the post and comments on the blog.

1. In following our first goals, we are to edify each other, not tear each other down. Which means, no gossiping or speaking in an unkind way about a sister or brother in Christ. “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32 Post or comments that reflect unkindness will be taken off the blog.

2. Our blog is used to discuss the current or past books. It’s not to be used as a platform for promoting various subjects. In other words, let’s not climb up on our ‘soapboxes’ to preach about politics, pollution or public displays of affection! LOL If you missed the first session, that ones for me!
