An Encounter with God

The Lord truly is amazing to me. Last night Myra made an observation about Experiencing God that helped me understand why I seem to be struggling with this book so much. She said, “This book seems to be written to pastors, missionaries and men.” The more I thought about it, the more I think she is right. I found myself wishing for someone, Henry’s wife maybe, to write a book about experiencing God for women.

Wouldn’t that be great!?! Well, guess what?!? This is where God is so amazing to me. About a month ago I bought another of Lysa TerKeurst books, What Happens When Women say Yes to God- Experiencing Life in Extraordinary Ways!!!!!! It’s been on my shelf for a month. I was waiting until I got “caught up” with things in my life before being to read it. Maybe this is why my life has been so busy for the last month. God was doing this in my life so I could experience Him in an amazing way!

So this morning, I thought to myself, I’m a little ahead in our book so I’ll start it. I pick it up off my shelf and put it in my bag. When I got to work, I just wanted to refresh my memory on what the book was about. Shazam!!!!!! God answered my wish!!!! (not even a prayer, just a wish!) So I wanted to let you read the back too. (Click on the picture to make it bigger.)

See?  Isn’t that amazing!  It’s a book about how to experience God for women!  Written by one of my favorite authors!  (This will most likely be a book we’ll do in 2011!) Just wanted to share where God showed Himself in my life! Well have a great day!

Not about the Book, but Still Great

Someone sent this to me and I loved it so I thought I would share it with you.

RECALL NOTICE:

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.

This defect has been technically termed "Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include:

1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required. The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R.

Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure.

Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.
DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter HIS Kingdom so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!
GOD
P.S. Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice. Remember: you may contact the Father any time by 'Knee mail'!

Next Month's Meeting

Good Morning girls,

I just wanted to say thank you to those who made it last Thursday night and tell the ones who weren’t there we missed you.

Sorry the night ran a little longer than normal. Experiencing God seems to be more challenging than the other books we have tackled in the past. I believe we need to slow down a bit to absorb what God has for us through this book.

So, with that in mind, the October 21st meeting we will cover chapters 10-16. (Chapters 10-12 were supposed to be covered last week, but we just didn’t get to them.)

November and December gets busy quick so I want to go ahead and plan those dates so we can get them on the calendar. Our normal night would be November 18th, but we have a ladies activity plus Lysa TerKeurst will be speaking in the area that night . So I’m planning our November meeting for Monday, November 15th. Bible study will be over the week before. For November’s meeting we will finish Experiencing God by covering chapters 17-26.

December is so busy, but I would still like to try to meet on Monday, December 13th. I was thinking we could do a small Christmas party. We could use this month invite some new people to join us. Also, instead of trying to read new material for December we will review of all the books we have done this year. I think that will be less stressful for all of us. What do you think?
